Midwest Jiu-Jitsu Academy was founded on the belief that success comes from training with purpose and supporting those around you. Under the leadership of Professor Scott Altgilbers, MWJJA has become one of the premier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academies in West Central Illinois and the surrounding tri-state area.

Our classes emphasize strategies, skills, and techniques derived from the rich history of Brazilian/Japanese Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, helping students of all levels build their own personalized arsenal of techniques. Whether in kids or adult classes, every lesson encourages learning, growth, and challenges that push students to become the best versions of themselves.

With a background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Traditional Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and Modern Army Combatives, Professor Scott combines his knowledge to create well-rounded martial artists who are disciplined, skilled, and confident both on the mats and in life.
